![]() Steps to address the “Installation Failed” issue: • Backup save data file to PS Plus or USB drive and delete existing save data file from the PS3 prior to update process * • Within the Games tab of the XMB select Game Data Utility • Highlight GT6 Game Data and press the “Triangle' button and select DELETE • While connected to PSN, highlight the GT6 game disc/game file from the XMB • Press the “Triangle” button and select “Check for Updates” • Accept the update prompts and begin patch process via the XMB • Allow the first 6 patches to download and install. • Once the 6th patch has finished installing, press the “Circle” button to cancel the download process • Scroll left while on the XMB, and highlight the Settings Tab • Scroll down to the Network Settings tab>Internet Connection and select DISABLE (this step will prevent the title from trying to complete the remaining TPPS patch process) • Boot GT6 and follow the in-game prompts until the main menu appears. (this step will create new save data which will later be deleted) • Once the initial in-game installation process is complete, press the “PS” button and Quit the game to return to the XMB • Return to the Settings>Network Settings>Internet Connection screen and select ENABLE • Highlight the GT6 game disc/game file and press the “Triangle” button and “Check for Updates” • Once the first patch has completed it’s download/install process press the “Circle” button to Cancel • Repeat steps 10-15 until all TPPS patches have been installed. • Copy save data from step 1 back to the PS3 system (overwriting any existing save data that may have been created during the update process) Although fairly complex, this worked every time. * If you don't have any progress, then you can skip this step. Nice one Mastr. Would I be right in assuming you learnt this through correspondence? A few things stand out to me: ' While connected to PSN.' Updates can be done without signing in, and I would have thought that it would be more reliable to update without being signed in to the PSN. But perhaps it's just a wording thing that I'm reading wrong and they simply mean connected to the internet anyway. 'Allow the first 6 patches to download and install.' Curious number. I've never worked out why there is always 1 less update file than the version number. Eg v1.14 has 13 update files. So does 6 patches get you to v1.06 or v1.07? Either way, it's an interesting place to nominate where to stop the patches for the first time. For reference here's a list of the updates according to release notes so far: v1.01 = 1.2GB v1.02 = 1.2GB v1.03 = 99MB v1.04 = 214MB v1.05 = 100MB v1.06 = 295MB v1.07 = 961MB v1.08 = 1.4GB v1.09 = 598MB v1.10 = 2.1GB v1.11 = 30MB v1.12 = 484MB v1.13 = 9.5MB v1.14 = 548MB ' Scroll down to the Network Settings tab>Internet Connection and select DISABLE. ' I was reading of this earlier. The reasoning behind disconnecting and then later reconnecting from the internet sounds good, and considering it's such a quick and easy step in the scheme of things, definitely worth the few extra seconds each time.
